Frequently asked questions
HOW DO I INTRODUCE PLANT-BASED FOOD?
Introducing a new diet or a new brand to your companion animal can be simple and stress-free with a gradual approach. We recommend transitioning slowly over 10-14 days (or longer for animals sensitive to change). Start by mixing in less than 10% of the new food with their current meal. Mix it well, and each day, increase the new food by about 10%, until their bowl is fully transitioned.
Every animal is different, so go at a pace that feels right. For those needing encouragement, some guardians have had success mixing in a little lukewarm water, pumpkin, coconut oil, or a touch of tomato purée. Combining wet and dry varieties can also help with acceptance.
For older animals or those with dental concerns, wet food or softened dry food (using a bit of warm water) may be gentler and easier to eat.

Will my companion animal like it?
That’s a question only your companion animal can truly answer 😊
You know them best! While animal is unique, thousands of dogs and cats around the world are thriving on plant-based pet food. Just like with humans, taste and texture preferences vary, so while we can’t promise a perfect match every time, many pets take to it beautifully.
If your furry friend seems a bit hesitant, don’t worry! Plenty of pet parents have had success using simple, gentle transition techniques. Reach out to us and we’re always happy to share tips to help your companion make the switch.
Is vegan pet food healthy?
Yes. Our vegan pet food options are crafted with holistic recipes to provide nutrition to companion animals as a whole, helping maintain the health of the entire animal, while following the nutritional guidelines on protein, fat and fibre levels for example for cats and dogs.
When feeding your animal, remember to check the feeding guidelines and that all animals are different and the guidelines should be adapted to take into account breed, age, temperament and activity level of the individual animal. That way you can help avoid over or under feeding.
Do Cats and Dogs need meat?
In short no, they don’t need meat to survive and thrive. What they truly need is a complete and balanced set of nutrients.
What they truly need is a complete and balanced set of nutrients.
We're proud to offer products that have meticulously sourced all the essential nutrition cats and dogs require, but from high-quality, non-animal sources. Think about it: meat is just a carrier for certain nutrients and flavours. However, it's often an eco-unfriendly and incredibly inefficient one.
Does it have Taurine?
Absolutely. Taurine is essential for cats because their bodies simply can't produce enough of it on their own. This means they must get it from their diet.
Think of it like us humans and Vitamin C: we rely on fruits and other sources to get our daily intake. Cats, on the other hand, produce their own Vitamin C, but they can't do the same for taurine.
The taurine in formulated pet foods is synthetic, but it's chemically identical to naturally occurring taurine. So, your cat's body will recognize and utilize it in exactly the same way.
Synthetic Taurine is added to meat pet foods too!
Do I need to add a supplement
No, you generally don't need to add a supplement. Our range of plant-based products are nutritionally complete. Unless your pet had a specific dietary need that required supplementation before switching to the new food, you'll find that our products provide all the necessary nutrients. In fact, many of the formulas already include beneficial additions like omega oils, herbs, prebiotics, taurine, and L-carnitine.
